Cold Laser Therapy
Don’t Let Pain Get in the Way of Your Life!
Cold laser therapy is a complementary therapy to chiropractic care that uses low-intensity laser therapy and low levels of light to accelerate healing at a tissue and cellular level. It is commonly used for temporary relief of minor muscle and joint pain, arthritis, muscle spasms, and stiffness, all while promoting muscle relaxation and improved blood circulation. Yes, everyone pauses when they hear the word “laser,” but it’s painless. You also won’t feel any heat or vibration—to the point where you may even wonder, “Is this thing even on?” Oh, yes, it’s on, and you can experience significantly less pain from a variety of acute and chronic conditions within one to a handful of 10-minute treatments.
Multi-Radiance laser technology is a natural and drug-free solution to pain. Furthermore, it has proven success rates similar to traditional treatment methods (including surgery) and without risk, complications, and lengthy recovery time.
How It Works
The cold laser we use in our office is a portable, handheld device about the size of a flashlight. During treatment, we place the head of the laser directly over the injured area (shoulder, arm, knee, etc.). Over the next several minutes, the laser gently penetrates the skin’s layers and is absorbed into the cells to repair damaged or injured tissue, reduce pain and inflammation, and accelerate healing. Treatments vary from patient to patient, but our team at Burgess Chiropractic recommends 10 minutes per patient per visit, three times per week.
One of three settings can be used, depending on your unique needs to treat ligaments, joints, cartilage, muscles, tendons, and inflammation:
Setting 1: Increases circulation and promotes muscle tissue relaxation
Setting 2: Reduces muscle stiffness and helps with pain relief
Setting 3: Provides temporary pain relief and deactivates trigger points and spasms
The best part about our cold laser is that it can detect problem areas on its own and will continue to treat until the issue is resolved.
